Post Progress
Hey!

Since it seems we're a little stuck at the moment to progress further into the depths of the cold halls, i thought i might start a post about it and let ppl ventilate their thought and ideas of the bosses we're struggling on. As it is now, we're having trouble with Rotface and haven't even had a go with his brother, Festergut. Do you guys think we should continue with Rottie a bit more and leaver Fester for now? Or should we try him aswell, next reset?

And also, I'd like ppl (the ones that raids!) to comment what and if there's an upgrade for em and from what bosses (which we have still on farm).

And last, i think we're having this much trouble since we didn't started with ToGC as soon as Anub was dead first time. It would have given us better gear and experience of harder fights, which it seems we lack of.

Anyways, I'd don't want ppl to put their head down and give up, especially the healers!, I know you're trying yer best. WE WILL DOWN THOSE TWO FUCKFACES SOON! That's a fact. Promise.

Post Re: Progress
OK here are my personal upgrade targets.....

These are all assuming 10 man loot.

Marrowgar :

Linked Scourge Vertebrae to replace my current Belt of Rotted Fingernails

Deathwhisper:

Handgrips of Frost and Sleet to replace my current Windrunner's Handguards of Conquest

Gunship:

I already have Pauldrons of Lost Hope and Icecrown Rampart Bracers so the only other thing that is of interest is Frost Giant's Cleaver if I decide to drop my two hander for dual wield stuff.

I dont think it would be a bad idea to try Festergut but there is no getting around the fact that we DO need to down Rotface to progress through this cursed place!

My other suggestion though is that since we one shot all the Lower Spire in easy fashion, why dont we try the heroic modes??

The upgraded loot will only help our chances on future bosses and it might be a nice midway point in terms of difficulty between Lower Spire and Plagueworks. You can toggle hardmodes with the UI on a per boss basis and I think I am right in saying we start doing this now.

That would be my suggestion for this weeks reset and possibly even tonight even though Marrowgar is down already from the weekly raid quest some of us did last week.

In general I feel that people need to be more familiar with the fights. I dont have 100% confidence that people have watched these videos back to front inside out nor have done further class specific reading.

wow.com is a great source of class specific info and should be something we all are aware of. There are even fight specific articles per class and or role.

Here is the healing one for Rotface and Festergut

http://www.wow.com/2010/01/05/raid-rx-h ... #continued

This is a really cool visual guide also that everyone should know like the back of their hands

http://www.stratfu.com/strats/rotface/r ... e-strategy

Both of those bastards drop some great loot I want

Rotface:

Shaft of Glacial Ice massive upgrade for my Orca-Hunter's Harpoon

Taldron's Short-Sighted Helm upgrades my Windrunner's Headpiece of Conquest

Festergut:

Taldron's Long Neglected Boots upgrades my Sentinel Scouting Greaves

Precious's Putrid Collar would upgrade my Barbed Ymirheim Choker

I kind of like the fact that we arent just blowing the content away - it will make ultimate victory that much sweeter. I have no doubt also that these two will go the way of the denizens of the Lower Spire.

Post Re: Progress
Oh and if you want to know how to link items in the forum like I did use this code and edit with the appropriate wowhead.com item number.

When you compose your post you will see a series of formatting buttons just above the edit box for things like changing the font to bold or italics.

Further to the right you will see an item button. Click it and it will put some code into your post.

After the first 'item' put a space followed by id=49623 (wowhead.com code for your item) so that the last number touches the ][/item] end part of the code.

The code will link the item and put the name in with the appropriate colour for the loot.

Like this.... Shadowmourne

The finished code should look like this

Image

To find your items wowhead code number look it up on wowhead.com and its the 5 digit code at the end of the url in your browsers address bar.

Hope this helps !

Post Re: Progress
At the moment there is no need for me to post item links because I can safely say that everything out of ICC 10 is a upgrade for me

Also I have to change my forum name..

Post Re: Progress
Torgar you fokken prawn! You promised me that every piece or rogue loot would be mine! Now I have to compete with 3 hunters!

I joke I joke...

Ok, so even though I'm not really raiding hectically with you lads seeing as you only start 11H00 PM local, I do enjoy doing what I can.

The only ICC gear that I have so far is the reputation ring, so I'm keen to start getting drops. Having said that...Here's my desired upgrade loot table for the first few 10-man bosses:

LOWER SPIRE:

Lord Marrowgar:

Normal/Heroic: No loot.

Lady Deathwhisper:

Normal/Heroic: Chestguard of the Frigid Noose upgrades my lvl 245 Knightbane Carapace
Normal/Heroic: Whispering Fanged Skull great upgrade for my lvl 232 Needle-Encrusted Scorpion (Not to mention how awesome it'll look in pair with my Death's Verdict)

Gunship Battle:

Normal/Heroic: No loot.

Saurfang:

Normal/Heroic: No loot.

The plagueworks:

Uncle Fester:

Normal/Heroic: No loot.

Rotface (Grobbulus V2.0):

Normal: Gluth's Fetching Knife slightly upgrades my lvl 245 Crimson Star

Ironically enough, the only weapon upgrade that I can get for my lvl 232 Blood Weeper is from TOC25, namely: Twin Spike.

I doubt we need to consider "heroic" mode on any bosses after the first section for now. As seen, I can upgrade pretty much every piece of gear on me - just depending on what the boss drops. (Thanks for the Item links, Torgar, it's pretty awesome!)

Great, some people actually reads this! Amazing!

Torgar, when you refer to heroic modes, you mean heroic icc10? Isn't it so, that you need to kill LK before you unlock HC modes? (Might be wrong on that). Or is it when you down the end boss at each wing?

Yeah exactly Balaim.

I have heard conflicting reports on this. Some people say you have to kill Arthas first, others say its on a per wing basis.

I will try to get the definative over the weekend on this.

That should be interesting,

Another thing that may benefit us is a definite raiding schedule. I know it's hard to cast it in stone seeing as it depends on numbers, but if eveyone knows which days are dedicated to ICC surely they should log?

Also - is it possible to raid on weekends? or is everyone busy? The 11pm raid on week days is a bit hectic for me sometimes, especially if I drive 800km round trips for meetings the next day.

I have approached Torgar regarding the 'Glory of the Hero' achievement where you need to get all the HC achievements to get a red proto drake. I'm still a few short, but if anyone is keen on dedicating Saturday or Sundays (or any non raiding night) to this I'm keen!

Post Re: Progress
I think most people know what i'm after by now seeing as i rage after every boss because they never drop -_- all the items will be replacing some crappy 245iLvl thing.

But I've been reliably informed that there isn't an order in which you clear the wings, similar to naxx meaning that should we give up on that big bastard Rotface and fail to do Festergut or whatever we can still have a crack at other bosses in other wings.

Just leaving that option open to us - apparently there are 2 valkyrs before dreamwalker that also drop a frost emblem each when you kill them... So we could kill them as well.

Jus' tell meh what you think ^^

Post Re: Progress
We should really dig into this, clearing it and getting the facts and make wise decisions. If it's possible to do marrowgar on hc, we DEFINITELY start try those hc modes. We get better loot and also we get use to hard encounters, which we also need.

And to respond to Voicy's post, about raiding weekends: I can only speak for us swedes and we would LOVE a sunday raid. If we decide to have progress raids on mon/tue (Rotface and so on) I can only attend those, since i can't play every night. I definitely think we should set a raid schedule, it would make things more easy for us with wifes 'n kids. My suggestion is 2 raids weekdays, and 1 raid sundays (progress day!).

Post Re: Progress
Balaim, any further news on raid schedules? I really think we'll do better at progress over weekends.

Also, are we attempting Hard Mode Lord Marrowgar tonight or what are the requirements for activating it?

Lastly, Torgar ... I haven't seen the luck system being implemented yet, but how does it work in my case where I can only benefit from loot dropped by 1 boss (Lady Deathwhisper) out of all the ICC bosses we've downed so far?

I don't want to say "Reserve all loot for me", but in a case where I'm downing bosses before and after her for emblems knowing I won't gain any loot from them, whereas those rolling for the loot against me may still get further upgrades through the night.

Since I also don't want them to sit without loot, would it be fair for all concerned to roll on the items I still need ( Chestguard of the Frigid Noose & Whispering Fanged Skull ) and if I lose then they get the loot, which they can then swap out to me if another piece of loot drops for them on a boss down the line?

If it sounds dumb, just tell me I'm being a fokken prawn and I'll shoosh. :P

Voicy

I think I know what youre getting at so let me try to explain the FMR (Luck Points) system in the simplest way.

Luck Points are earned every time someone rolls on, and wins loot.

The person who wins the loot loses 50 luck points. Everyone else gains 1 luck point.

Luck points accumulate until you win a main spec roll upon which you lose them. Luck points are simply added to every main spec roll you make and the total of your 'real' roll and your luck points is used to determine who gets the loot.

So if there is nothing you need off the bosses either side of Deathwhisper, you will gain luck points for every main spec item that someone rolls on and wins.

Actually in your case you should accumulate LP at quite a rate as you wont be rolling on stuff as much as some others are. When your loot drops on Deathwhisper you should have a nice chunk of LP stored up and of course a good roll will help ensure you win the item.

Common sense will prevail also, and remember that you are the only rogue we raid with. This means that if rogue-centric loot (leather really) drops, you will pretty much always get as no one else uses DPS leather as a main spec.

Things like the Whispering Fanged Skull are slightly different in that many other DPS classes will likely roll on it and it will be a combo of how many luck points you have vs the luck of your /roll 100.

Does this make sense?

Regarding raid nights and raid schedule, I really think we are flogging a dead horse as far as progression raiding goes.

I just dont think enough of our team will be able to dedicate time at the weekends to raid. I know myself that weekends are not planned and I tend to do things on a whim.

There is nothing to stop you guys organising stuff however. But personally speaking I like the fact that we take two hours 2-3 and sometimes even 4 nights per week to raid and progress. I know this isnt always convenient for you Voicy because of the time zone difference. But I know at least half of the regulars wouldnt be able to come (myself included) if we started earlier.

Here is the schedule I would like us to work to....

Weds/Thu - Progression Raiding.
Monday - PvP (yes I want us to do some PvP! including an all guild VoA run but people will need to wait and not burn it, organised BGs and the like and team WG. PvP and honour is getting a big bump in the next patch and I for one want to do more PvP and I am guessing that since we all rolled toons on a PvP server that we all like to PvP a little ?)
Tuesday - RP Night - we have GOT to get back to doing some kind of RP in this guild.
Friday/Saturday/Sunday - 25 man Pugs or raids with Alts if enough people are online.

Wednesday and Thursday have really always been the nights to raid in GH since way back. This is not to say that we cannot use the other nights to continue progress if people would rather raid than do PvP.

We do need to get better at getting stuff on the Calendar, I will speak with Lewis about getting the raid stuff booked a week in advance every single week and likewise the RP folks (Zamii and Faldak) need to get something booked on the Cal.

PvP wise, I am happy to organise it but if it becomes regular I will be looking for someone to spearhead this for us.

Over and out.

Torgar

*edit - I just noticed that you can click the "Item" box and just type the name of your item and providing you type the name exactly correct, you dont need to worry about putting item numbers in. The system will handle it for you!

*edit2 - This post should clear up any confusion about Heroic 10 man modes. Until we kill Arthas, we cant even attempt them :(

Post Re: Progress
Thanks for clearing that up chief!

It makes perfect sense. I wasn't aware that luck points were currently being recorded. I actually like that idea since it rewards you for not rolling unnecessarily as well as helping to down bosses without getting loot. The leather drops is only really between myself and Dandriel, so I'm sure we'll see who needs what the most. (i.e. I'd give up a 251 upgrade of my 245 to someone who has as a 219 item that he has been trying to replace without success, that way the total raid upgrade is higher. - That's how we did it back in WrG-Karazhan days, which is obviously dependent on everyone bringing their part and not freeriding.) Is there any way to see what your current luck-points are sitting on?

As soon as you guys adjust DST we'll be fine again & only 1hr apart. (Since Africa is too dumb to cope with it, we don't apply DST. Ever.) Lately we've been starting at 10pm (local) giving me 2hrs of raiding time, which is more than enough to clear the first wing.

If we're struggling with wing progress, what are our chances of downing the first few bosses on ToGC10 ?

PvP sounds good, it'll actually be quite nice to do guild events where more than just the 10 of us takes part in ICC each time.

Thanks again. :)

(Oh ... and you can't say "over and out" in the same sentence in radio comms. "over" means you've sent your message and await reply, "out" means you've sent your message and ended comms. :p )

Post Re: Progress
I think with the introduction of the new zone wide 5% buff simmilar to luck of the draw it will certainly give us a chance to get rotface kicked in the baws along with his mate festergut, Professor putricide is a rediculously overtuned fight that we will probably wipe more on than we have Rotface but as I shown you recently we don't have to go in order of release so we can leave him till we've experienced more raiding in ICC and have better gear :D.

Loot Council can never end well.

And as for the lucky points system it was me who set it up for GH. All point values are stored in your toons officer note, so if you ask an officer to know the points value they can tell you ^^ Officers - [its the last number in the line of code]

And as for the heroic attempts even though we cant try them... The Phrase running before we can walk comes to mind. You underestimate how hard these hard modes actually are :)

But I think we could do ToGC10 with no real issues, its not exactly hard and we have alot of good players so we should be fine :)

Also on a side note: Alot of the BiS gear these days are actually crafted items so I'd look into this if i were you :)

Oh btw guise- did i mention there will soon be WARRIOR BUFFS !!!! :D
