The Gryphon Hammers
The infamous Stormhammers of Aerie Peak bore many great flying squadrons. Few were more famous than the daring Silver Hammers whose legendary bombing missions still remain the stuff of legend. Following the end of the third war, the Silver Hammers enjoyed times of peace and as a sign of this peace they were renamed the Gryphon Hammers. Prior to the re-opening of the Dark Portal, the Gryphon Hammers were strong in number and were led by the noble and honorable Khaldur Wildhammer. Khaldur and an elite squadron of Gryphon Hammers followed his cousin Kurdran Wildhammer through the Dark Portal into Outland establishing a base of operations in the heart of the notorious Shadowmoon Valley. Alas, the might of the forces of Illidan the Betrayer claimed many dwarven victims in the establishment of the Stronghold and whilst the dwarves still hold sway over the outpost, Khadlur and an elite squadron of Gryphon Hammers were last seen soaring off into the skies near the Black Temple. They have not been seen since. Since their disappearance the Gryphon Hammers have been in steady decline, their numbers dwindling to but a few ragtag warriors back in the old lands of Azeroth. One who kept the fires burning back at the peak was none other than Torgar Troggstalker, a fierce and deadly hunter who recently discovered his birthright. With Khaldur and his men missing and presumed dead, Torgar stumbled across old journals kept by his father Magraff Troggstalker that spoke of a secret liaison during his youth with none other than Fran Dachrip the only daughter of the former Thane of Aerie Peak Maz Dachrip! Believing his true mother to be murdered by a band of vicious Troggs, Torgar was shocked to learn that his real mother was the only blood descendant of the former Thane Dachrip! Somewhat shunning his birthright, Torgar has instead chosen to re-form the Gryphon Hammers. Having spent time amongst the crusaders of Khazmodan on daring missions in Outland, this burly, ruddy skinned and hardy hill dwarf has again been reminded of the lingering differences between the dwarves of Khaz Modan and those of the Hinterlands, instead choosing to go his own way and restore his clan to their former glory. Now an accomplished Gryphon Rider in his own right he travels the lands far and wide with his trusty black maned lion Nightfang, still in search of the lost Gryphon Hammers but he also now carries with him a grim determination to hon our their memories by re-establishing his long lost guild.
